Peugeot gets a new home here in Singapore

Cycle and Carriage has announced that it has taken on the distributorship of Peugeot here in Singapore alongside another Stellantis brand - Leapmotor.

Stellantis and Cycle & Carriage Singapore have jointly announced that Cycle & Carriage Singapore (C&C) will now take on the distributorship of three of Stellantis' brands: Citroen, Peugeot, and Leapmotor.

C&C is taking on the distributorship of Peugeot from Vantage Automotive, which, according to The Straits Times, is now planning to focus on distributing Chinese electric vehicle brand BYD instead. Stellantis states that it hopes that combining the three brands under one dealership will re-invigorate the market and offer customers an integrated showroom experience.

Leapmotor, meanwhile, is said to be the third largest new energy vehicle startup in China. The firm is expanding outside of China thanks to a 51:49 agreement penned in October 2023 that saw the formation of Stellantis-led joint venture called Leapmotor International. The joint venture gives Stellantis the exclusive rights for export, sale and manufacturing of Leapmotor products outside China. The first model set to arrive here from the new brand is the C10. The five-seater SUV that was first offered in Europe as a battery-electric vehicle, although a new range-extender variant has made its launch in Europe at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show.

C&C has held the appointment as authorised distributor for Citroen, which they have represented in Singapore since 2006.

The three automotive brands are set to be located at C&C's main premise at 239 Alexandra Road, which is now undergoing renovations to house the three distinctive brands all under one roof. The renovations are scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2025.

C&C has been making moves to enlarge its presence in Singapore's growing electric vehicle market - the firm first announced its partnership with Great Wall Motor to bring in the ORA electric vehicle brand to Singapore in March of 2023, and more recently launched the Gogoro electric scooters at its new Electric Commercial Vehicle Hub in Ubi.

According to the LTA's statistics, a total of 14,448 electric vehicles were registered here in 2024, accounting for 33.6% of car registrations for the year. This is a jump from the total of 5,467 electric vehicles registered here in 2023, when they comprised 18% of vehicle registrations for 2024.

Stellantis, meanwhile, recently saw its presence in Singapore taking a hit with the closure of the Alfa Romeo and Jeep showrooms.

C&C states that it is now opening its doors as the official distributor for Peugeot in Singapore, and customers looking to purchase a new Peugeot vehicle can now head to C&C's showroom at 239 Alexandra Road for test drives or sales related enquiries. Customers may also visit Peugeot Singapore's webpage here to browse available car models and stay updated with the latest news and deals.

Existing Peugeot vehicle owners are also advised to now turn to C&C for vehicle servicing and all other aftersales services including accident reporting and repairs. Those with existing factory warranties are also encouraged to register with C&C here to stay updated on any news, offers, and service information from the brand. C&C states that existing factory warranties remain unchanged and will be honoured at C&C's premise at 239 Alexandra Road.

Those with any outstanding servicing packages, vouchers, credits or local extended warranties given or supplied by Vantage Automotive Ltd, meanwhile, are advised to approach Vantage Automotive Ltd directly for assistance. The Straits Times states that Vantage Automotive will honour the service packages it has sold to Peugeot customers.
