The Joint Steering Committee for Development of RDA (JSC) is responsible for maintaining “RDA: Resource Description and Access”. JSC was previously responsible for maintenance of the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR), which RDA has been developed to replace.
RDA provides a set of guidelines and instructions on formulating data to support resource discovery. RDA provides a comprehensive set of guidelines and instructions covering all types of content and media.

The work of the JSC relies heavily on the members of the constituent organizations. From time to time the JSC issues certificates to express its appreciation to individuals who have made a significant contribution to RDA; see “JSC Certificates.”
