Message from the Minister of Justice regarding the new dates of the Kyoto Congress and the Youth Forum (July 31, 2020)
The new dates of the 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (the Kyoto Congress) have been announced, and the Congress will take place over the course of 6 days from March 7 to 12, 2021.
Based on these new dates, the Ministry of Justice of Japan has decided to hold the Youth Forum on February 27 and 28, 2021 – one week prior to the Congress.
At the Kyoto Congress, we plan to use virtual platforms to showcase a new model of international conferences in the COVID-19 era.
In order to promote the importance of the rule of law and to exhibit the safety and security of Japan, we will work closely with related organizations to prepare for the Kyoto Congress.
