State Minister of Justice KADOYAMA attended the G7 Justice Ministers Meeting.
On 9 and 10 May, 2024, State Minister KADOYAMA Hiroaki participated in the G7 Justice Ministers Meeting in Venice, Italy, together with the Justice Ministers of the G7 states, Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the Vice President of the European Commission and the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
The meeting reaffirmed the values of the rule of law and adopted “Venice Declaration,” in which the participating Ministers renewed their commitment to support Ukraine through the Anti-Corruption Task Force for Ukraine (“ACT for Ukraine”), which Japan proposed and launched at the meeting last year.
State Minister KADOYAMA reported the achievement and plan of action of the “ACT for Ukraine”. State Minister KADOYAMA also expressed his intention to further promote Justice Affairs Diplomacy in cooperation with the G7, which enjoyed strong supports by all G7 countries.

On the sidelines of the Meeting, State Minister KADOYAMA had bilateral meetings with Mr. Paolo Sisto, Deputy Minister of Justice of Italy, Mr. Merrick Garland, Attorney General of the United States, Mr. Alex Chalk, Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice of the United Kingdom, The Honourable Arif Virani, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Mr. Denys Maliuska, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine and Mr. Andriy Kostin, Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
