Courtesy Visit to the Minister of Justice by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Japan
On January 29, 2024, Minister KOIZUMI Ryuji received a courtesy visit by H.E. Ms. Julia Longbottom CMG, British Ambassador to Japan.
Minister Koizumi welcomed Ambassador Longbottom and they agreed to put the outcomes of the Ministerial Forum on Justice Affairs Diplomacy held last July into action and work together to further promote the rule of law.
In addition, they exchanged views on enhanced cooperation in the field of law and justice through the Japan-UK Strategic Dialogue on Law and Justice, which is based on the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between the Ministry of Justice of Japan and the Ministry of Justice of the United Kingdom signed by the ministries last year.
Moreover, they agreed to further enhance mutual understanding and cooperation in the field of law and justice and strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
