Justice Minister held web conference with Secretary of State for the Home Department The Right Honorable Priti Patel MP of the United Kingdom (September 1, 2021)

On September 1, 2021, Minister Kamikawa held a web conference with Secretary of State for the Home Department the Right Honorable Priti Patel MP to exchange views on themes including the follow-up to the Kyoto Congress and on strengthening cooperation between the two ministries.

With regard to the Kyoto Congress, Minister Kamikawa said that she will take a leadership role in following up on the outcomes of the Kyoto Congress, and Minister Patel commended Japan's efforts.

The Ministers also confirmed that they are strategic partners who share the vision of promoting the rule of law and open societies in the Indo-Pacific and agreed to further strengthen cooperation in areas which the two Ministries are in charge, such as immigration.
