Courtesy Call on Justice Minister by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (July 21, 2021)
On July 21, 2021, Mr. Filippo Grandi, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), who is visiting Japan for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, paid a courtesy call to Minister Kamikawa at the Ministry of Justice of Japan.
Minister Kamikawa and High Commissioner Grandi, after having witnessed the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between the Immigration Services Agency of Japan and the UNHCR on the Refugee Status Determination System of Japan, exchanged views and shared their intention to develop a cooperative relationship between the Ministry and the UNHCR based on the MOC.
