Justice Minister Participated in TICAD7
Justice Minister Yamashita participated in TICAD7 on August 30, 2019.
Minister Yamashita participated in the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) and made a statement at the Plenary Session 5 “Promoting Peace and Stability”. In his statement, the Minister highlighted the capacity-building programmes held by UNAFEI (the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders) and emphasized the importance of legal technical assistance. The Minister also encouraged high-level representation from Africa at the 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which is to be held in Kyoto in 2020.
The Ministry of Justice’s exhibition booth featured UNAFEI’s international training programmes and provided information on the Kyoto Congress.
