Courtesy Visit to the Minister of Justice by the Secretary-General of ASEAN
On December 18, 2024, Mr. SUZUKI Keisuke, Minister of Justice of Japan received a courtesy visit by H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, the Secretary-General of ASEAN.
Minister Suzuki welcomed Dr. Kao Kim Hourn and discussed ways to steadily implement initiatives set out in the “Joint Statement” and the “Work Plan” endorsed at the ASEAN-Japan Special Meeting of Justice Ministers last year. They also exchanged view on Japan’s proposal to establish the ASEAN Plus Japan Law Ministers’ Meeting which Japan proposed at the 3rd ASEAN Senior Law Officials Meeting-Japan Consultation in October. Furthermore, they reaffirmed their commitments to the further deepening understanding and cooperation between ASEAN and Japan in the field of law and justice, through the exchange of various information, while strengthening cooperation with each other.
