At the Second CEESI Plenary Meeting, the two sides held deliberations on efforts for facilitating CEESI, which will accelerate cooperation on developing and deploying clean energy technology, with the upcoming Japan-U.S. Leader’s Summit in April 2024 in mind. They exchanged views on giving further impetus to Japan-U.S. collaboration, including facilitating supply chains in the field of clean energy through the GX Promotion Act of Japan and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of the U.S., focusing in particular on the progress made and future bilateral cooperation in such fields as CCUS/carbon recycling including e-methane, floating offshore wind power generation, perovskite solar cells, hydrogen and ammonia as its derivative, and nuclear energy. They agreed to accelerate Japan-U.S. cooperation in these fields. Along with this, they released an outcome document (see the Appendix).
