METI State Minister Iwata Delivers Remark via Video Message at "Connecting with Ukraine" Held by JICA

On Friday, February 16, 2024, Mr. Iwata Kazuchika, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, delivered a remark via a video message at an event titled Connecting with Ukraine held by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He showed his expectations for further accelerating the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine.

On Friday, February 16, 2024, JICA held an event titled Connecting with Ukraine in Tokyo, and State Minister Iwata delivered a remark via a video message at the event.

Aiming at the enhancement of Japan-Ukraine partnerships, the event provided presentations by representatives of Ukrainian companies, a panel discussion with speakers from Japan and Ukraine, and other program items. It focused on a variety of fields, including the economy, administration, culture, and support for refugees. During his remarks, State Minister Iwata stated the importance of advancing collaboration between large and mid-ranking Japanese companies and startups and Ukrainian companies in certain industrial fields, including agriculture and livestock, monodzukuri (manufacturing), and IT and digital technology, for the purpose of achieving economic reconstruction and industrial enhancement that will contribute to Ukraine’s economic growth. He also showed his expectations for further accelerating the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine. Moreover, he expressed his appreciation for holding the event prior to the Japan-Ukraine Conference for Promotion of Economic Growth and Reconstruction scheduled to be held on February 19.
