Minister Nishimura Holds an Online Meeting with Mr. Chris Bowen, Minister for Climate Change and Energy of Australia

On Saturday, May 20, Mr. Nishimura Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held an online meeting with Mr. Chris Bowen, Minister for Climate Change and Energy of Australia, exchanging views on climate change measures in both countries and trends and current developments in the energy sector. They also discussed the confirmation of a stable LNG supply from Australia and a better investment environment for energy-related projects in Australia.
During the meeting, they discussed climate change countermeasures and current trends and conditions in the energy sector in both countries, and also confirmed the importance of a stable LNG supply from Australia in light of the current energy market. They also exchanged views on the investment environment for Japanese companies in the energy sector in Australia, based on the expectation that the continued development of a reliable investment environment in the LNG sector in Australia will lead to deeper bilateral cooperation in the clean energy sector in the future.
