METI Concludes a Partnership Concerning Critical Minerals with the Department of Industry, Science and Resources and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia

On October 22, in the presence of the Prime Ministers of both countries, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Vice-Minister for International Affairs Hirai), the Australian Department of Industry, Science and Resources (Minister for Natural Resources King), and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade concluded a Partnership concerning Critical Minerals. The Partnership is expected to further strengthen cooperation between Australia and Japan in the field of critical minerals.

Summary

On October 22, in conjunction with Prime Minister Kishida's visit to Australia, METI Vice-Minister for International Affairs Hirai and Australian Minister for Natural Resources King concluded a Partnership concerning Critical Minerals.
Going forward, a framework will be established to facilitate the development of a critical minerals supply chain and mutually beneficial investment between Australia and Japan, and cooperation between the two countries will be advanced to develop Australia's domestic critical minerals industry and secure the mineral resources needed in Japan.
