On August 27, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development (MoITED) of Kenya signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on Human Resource Technical Skills Development. The MOC is expected to establish a cooperative framework in the field of human resource development between Japan and Kenya to achieve Industry 4.0 in Kenya.

Overview

On August 27, Mr. Nakatani Shinichi, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Hon. Betty C. Maina, Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development—who were in Tunis, the capital of the Republic of Tunisia, to attend the Eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8)—signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on Human Resource Technical Skills Development.
With the MOC, the two ministries agreed to promote cooperation in human resource development at governmental level, which has been done mainly in the private sectors of both countries.
