On May 27, METI Minister Hagiuda held a meeting with Viet Nam's Standing Deputy Minister of the Socialist Pham Binh Minh to further strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
Summary of the meeting
On May 27(Fri.), Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Standing Deputy Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
At the meeting, we exchanged views on the "ASIA-Japan Investing for the Future Initiative (AJIF)" announced in January in light of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam next year, and confirmed our commitment to further develop bilateral economic relations under this initiative. They also welcomed the launch of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and confirmed that both sides will continue to work closely with the CPTPP.
