Munetoshi Maruyama says,

"Motivated by a desire to share the diversity and magnificence of insects, and to increase the number of insect lovers, I have been actively involved in insect education through books, exhibitions, and media appearances.

"In recent years, I have had the opportunity to create educational pictorial books like those I enjoyed as a child. At the Kyushu University Museum, we annually host insect exhibitions, focusing on lesser-known species through various trials and errors. Additionally, I have participated in the TV program "Kids Science Phone Discussions" produced by NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), offering insect-related insights through media channels.

"I am deeply honored and proud that these activities have been recognized, leading to this award. At same time, I would like to express my profound gratitude to all those who have supported my work. The Kyushu University Museum is set for a major renovation in a few years, which will bring about a significant transformation. As a faculty member of the museum, I aim to apply this experience to further enhance our connection between the university and the public."
