From: khamer@sumax.seattleu.edu Subject: xcoral-1.72 difficulties -- any ideas? Date: 7 Apr 1993 22:32:25 -0700
I just got sources for xcoral-1.72, a very elegant and well-endowed X
editor. Sources may be found at lri.lri.fr in /pub (I think...)
It compiles easily, and runs without a hitch on all functions _except_
(there's always one of these, isn't there?) when you try to load a file
from a directory other than the one xcoral was started in, it crashes. No
error message, even. Same whether or not you use -static.
Using GDB, I find there is a segmentation fault. The error is at 0xf140
in LoadFile (suprise, suprise!). Since I cannot contact the author (mail
bounces), and since linux _is_ on the list of software that it has been
reportedly compiled successfully on, my next though was to ask here.
Has anyone else compiled this? Any suggestions? I am learning C, but I
don't see the cause. It's a really nice program, and I'd love to see this
little problem reconciled.
Thanks, Ken
