1975:
Chairman Kohei Oikawa of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperative Associations made a recommendation at the Annual Meeting of the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum that “we should pave the way for thorough investigation and research on the effects of thermal effluents”
December
1975:
The establishment of the Marine Ecology Research Institute was approved, and the Head Office was opened in the Kamakura Kashi Building
1976: Began commissioned research for the Fisheries Agency and the Environment Agency
1977: Began commissioned research for the Ministry of International Trade and Industry
October
1979: Opened a branch office in the Kuramachi Building
November
1979:
Completed the Central Research Laboratory
February
1981: Held the “5th Anniversary Research Meeting on the Effects of Power Plant Water Intake and Discharge”
January
1984: Began a commissioned project for the Science and Technology Agency

Completed the Demonstration Laboratory

2008: Following the dissolution of the Warm Water Fish Farming Development Association, the remaining assets were accepted
