Executive Summary of the WP1/11, WP2/11 and WP3/11 meetings
(Geneva, 7 December 2022)

Working Party 1/11 (Signalling requirements and protocols for emerging telecommunications networks), Working Party 2/11 (Control and management protocols for IMT-2020 and beyond) and Working Party 3/11 (Conformance and interoperability testing) meetings were held in Geneva on 7 December 2022. The meetings were attended by 69 delegates from 16 countries. The list of participants is made available in particular TDs posted for each particular WP as follows: SG11-TD3/WP1; SG11-TD3/WP2 and SG11-TD3/WP3 accordingly.

The meetings were preceded by SG11 interim Rapporteur Group meetings (RGM) of Questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13 and 14/11. The RGM were attended by 106 delegates from 17 countries. The list of participants is made available in DOC97-A1 stored on RGM SharePoint.

The opening remarks were delivered by Dr Chaesub Lee, Director, Telecommunication Standardization Bureau on 28 November 2022. It was recorded and it is available in the webcast archives.

5 Highlights of WP1/11, WP2/11 and WP3/11 meetings

WP1/11

WP1/11 consented three draft Recommendations, as follows (see SG11-TD29/WP1):

ITU-T Q.5004 (ex. Q.LiteIMS-SA): Signalling architecture of Lite IMS for IMT-2020 network and beyond (Q1/11, baseline text: SG11-TD51-R1/WP1).
ITU-T Q.5005 (ex. Q.IMT2020-SAO): Requirement, framework and protocols for signalling network analyses and optimization in IMT-2020 (Q2/11, baseline text: SG11-TD69/WP1).
ITU-T Q.3647 (ex. Q.Sig_Req_ETS_IMS_roaming): Signalling requirements for emergency service in IMS roaming environment (Q3/11, baseline text: SG11-TD44/WP1).

Note: ITU-T draft Recommendations Q.QKDN_profr, Q.QKDN_Ak, Q.QKDN_Kq-1, Q.QKDN_Ck, Q.QKDN_Kx, Q.CPN, Q.hns, Q.BNG-INC were planned to be consented at the WP1/11 plenary meeting (7 December 2022). However, as the baseline texts were not mature enough and required more improvement, the consenting plan has been postponed.

WP1/11 agreed to start eight new work items, as follows (see SG11-TD30/WP1):

Q.CPN-NC-SA: Signalling architecture of network control functions for CPN
(Q1/11, baseline text: SG11-TD52/WP1).
Q.S-NICE-SA: Signalling architecture of S-NICE (Software-defined network intelligence capability enhancement) (Q1/11, baseline text: SG11-TD54/WP1).
Amendment to Recommendation ITU-T Q.1902.3 (Q2/11, baseline text: SG11-TD75/WP1)
Amendment to Recommendation ITU-T Q.763 (Q2/11, baseline text: SG11-TD76/WP1)
Amendment to Recommendation ITU-T Q.931 (Q2/11, baseline text: SG11-TD77/WP1)
Q.NCRP: Network coding protocol for network repeaters (Q2/11, baseline text: SG11-TD78/WP1)
Q.cco-mec: Signalling requirements for orchestration supporting confidential computing in multi-access edge computing (Q4/11, baseline text: SG11-TD62/WP1)
Q.cpi: Signalling requirements for computing power identification of computing power network (Q4/11, baseline text: SG11-TD63/WP1)

Also, WP1/11 achieved progress on 21 ongoing work items (see Annex D of WP1/11 report, SG11-TD36-R1/WP1). The Work programme of the WP1/11 will be updated accordingly.

There were some proposed new work items which were put in the living lists of Q2/11, Q3/11 and Q5/11 for further discussion in the future SG11 meeting (SG11-TD79/WP1, SG11-TD48/WP1, SG11-TD89/WP1).

WP1/11 sent out ten liaison statements. The lists of iLSs addressed to WP1/11 and oLSs of WP1/11 are available in SG11-TD28-R3/WP1 and SG11-TD38/WP1 accordingly.

WP2/11

There were no draft Recommendations consented by WP2/11 at this particular meeting.

Note: ITU-T draft Recommendation Q.IEC-PRO was planned to be consented at the WP2/11 plenary meeting (7 December 2022). However, as the baseline text was not mature enough and required more improvement, the consenting plan has been postponed.

WP2/11 agreed to start five new work items, as follows (see SG11-TD14/WP2):

Q.SPMA: Signalling and protocol management for multiple access types in IMT-2020 network and beyond (Q6/11, baseline text: SG11-TD41/WP2);
Q.UAMS-SRA: Signalling requirements and architecture for Urban Air Mobility (UAM) service environment (Q7/11, baseline text: SG11-TD32/WP2);
Q.HP2P-svcfrw: Hybrid peer-to-peer (P2P) communications: service framework (Q8/11, baseline text: SG11-TD48/WP2);
Amendment to Recommendation ITU-T Q.4102 (Q8/11, baseline text: SG11-TD46/WP2);
Amendment to Recommendation ITU-T Q.4103 (Q8/11, baseline text: SG11-TD47/WP2).

Also, WP2/11 achieved progress on ten ongoing work items (see Annex D of WP2/11 report, SG11-TD19-R1/WP2). The Work programme of the WP2/11 will be updated accordingly.

Also, WP3/11 achieved progress on eight ongoing work items (see Annex D of WP3/11 report, SG11-TD15-R1/WP3). The Work programme of the WP3/11 will be updated accordingly.
