The Collaborative Team on Cloud Computing Reference Architecture (CT-CCRA) was established to collaboratively develop a common text for an ITU-T Recommendation | ISO/IEC International Standard on cloud computing reference architecture. The Collaborative Team (CT) for Cloud Computing Reference Architecture was open to the experts from ITU-T Study Group 13 and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 38/WG 3. CT meetings shall be collocated and sequential with Collaborative Team on Cloud Computing Overview and Vocabulary (CT-CCVOCAB).
The CT-CCRA was co-chaired by Jamil Chawki and Anders Kingstedt.

Base development

The goal of the project was the development of Cloud Computing Reference Architecture based on the three documents:
  • Draft new Recommendation Y.CCRA Cloud Computing Reference Architecture from ITU-T Q.27/13 (latest text in TD 41 (WP6/13)).
  • Section 6.1 of draft new Recommendation Y.CCEco – Cloud computing: ecosystem, use cases, and general requirements - Actors and Roles of a Cloud ecosystem - from ITU-T Q.26/13 (latest text in TD 55 (WP6/13)).
  • ISO/IEC WD 17789 – Cloud Computing Reference Architecture (latest text in N0680) from WG3 (latest text in N0680).

​In July 2014 the collaborative team CT-CCRA was closed as accomplishing its mandate (given by SG13 and ISO/IEC JTC1 SC38/WG3 in June 2012).   

The success of this project resulted in approval on 13 August 2014 of the common text International Standard ISO/IEC 17789 |Recommendation ITU-T Y.3502 "Information technology — Cloud computing ─ Reference architecture.
