Introduction

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organized a Forum on Exploring the Potential of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things that was kindly hosted by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and took place at the Dusit Thani Lakeview Cairo on 6 May 2018 from 09h00 11h00. The Forum provided a platform to discuss AI technologies and IoT data in smart cities. It also explored the transformative and enabling potential of AI in keeping with the expanding IoT ecosystem and discussed the role that international standards can play.

In addition to the forum, the following events took place:

6 May 2018: Bridging the Standardization Gap Session on IoT (Training on IoT) (11h30 – 16h00)
6-8 May 2018: Showcase on IoT solutions
6-16 May 2018: ITU-T Study Group 20 "Internet of things (IoT) and smart cities and communities (SC&C)" meeting
10 May 2018: Joint Coordination Activity on Internet of Things and Smart Cities and Communities (JCA-IoT and SC&C)

Target Audience
Participation in the Forum is open to all and is free of charge, however seats are limited and no fellowships will be granted.
