The theme of WTDC-14 was "Broadband for Sustainable Development".
The objective of WTDC-14 was to establish work programmes and guidelines for defining telecommunication development questions and priorities and to provide direction and guidance for the work programme of the Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) over the next four-year period.
WTDC-14 was preceded by an
Executive Strategic Dialogue on Broadband for Sustainable Development. This Dialogue took place on Saturday,29 March, and provided an opportunity to exchange views on the trends, challenges and opportunities of the telecom/ICT sector.
