Summary:
Providing subtitles/captions and Sign Language window for users who cannot access the audio in immersive environments present specific challenges, such as: a) where to position the subtitles/captions and Sign Language window, and b) how to guide the user to the subtitles.
This technical report will present the different alternatives that have been tested and provide data based on existing research with end users. For positioning systems, the following will be considered: evenly spaced in a fixed position, always visible, head tracking with lag, positioned in front then fixed, placed near the speakers. For guiding mechanisms, arrow and radar will be included.
