Summary:
1. To examine the impact of OTTs on telecommunications industry earnings in Latin American and Caribbean developing states.
2. To support the examination of new investment partnership models for communications networks premised on the impact of OTT platforms.
This study will analyse the interdependencies involving over-the-top technologies (OTT) voice and messaging applications, telecommunications industry revenues and national income per capita, using an ordinary least square (OLS) regression analysis of a cross-section of regional jurisdictions. This contribution would advance the examination of modern investment models for telecommunications networks, as a study item for SG3RG-LAC, in the interest of sustainable fair competition and infrastructure investment in telecommunications markets in SIDS.
