The Internet is a worldwide super-network used to access publicly available computers. The Internet is composed of thousands of smaller telecommunications and computer networks all around the world that have agreed to connect and communicate with each other and transfer data between each other. There is no International Law mandating the Internet's existence nor any government or other body solely responsible for governing or policing the Internet.
When an Internet provider tells you "WE ARE the Internet", its a lie.
A wide range of Internet tutorials are provided here, covering questions such as "What is the Internet?" and "How does the Internet work?" and the history of the Internet as well as the majority of networking technologies, networking protocols, routing and communications protocols used by the Internet.
I highly recommended that you read the Theory section of the InetDaemon.Com website, especially the OSI Model, and Binary sections before beginning the Internet tutorials, as they will help you get the most out of these Internet tutorials.
