Rúaidhrí O'Connor Chief Rugby Correspondent
Rúaidhrí joined the Irish Independent as a general sports reporter in 2010, before being appointed rugby correspondent in 2013 and chief rugby correspondent in 2020. A graduate of UCD with a Master’s in history, he previously worked for Bank of America before moving into freelance sports journalism full-time in 2009. Rúaidhrí has covered three Rugby World Cups and two Lions tours, delivering news and analysis across the spectrum of Irish and international rugby. He is based in Dublin, Ireland.
