John O’Shea has admitted that Ireland management expected more from Evan Ferguson’s loan move to West Ham – and he has challenged the 20-year-old to use this international window to prove what he can do for both club and country.
Ferguson has endured a challenging season, with an injury-interrupted period at Brighton that saw him drop down the pecking order before making a loan move in a bid to secure more minutes.
