Former RTÉ broadcaster Ryan Tubridy is set to receive the Irish Post award for his contribution to broadcasting.
The Irish Post Awards will be held in the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London on Thursday, November 7, where Tubridy will scoop an Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting Award.
The awards honour the achievements of the Irish in the UK.
The Virgin Radio UK presenter, who moved to London last December, said he was delighted to hear the news, adding: "I’m extremely honoured to accept this award from an Anglo-Irish, or rather, Irish-Anglo institution.
"It’s been quite the year personally and professionally in a very positive way and this is a most welcome twist in the tale. Thank you to The Irish Post for the warm welcome to London."
Since January 2024, the broadcaster has presented the Ryan Tubridy Show each weekday on Virgin Radio UK, which is simultaneously broadcast on Dublin's Q102 from 10am to 1pm.
He also hosts his podcast The Bookshelf, which is out every Tuesday on audio platforms and Youtube.
Tubridy speaks with his guests, one of the most recent ones being Taoiseach Simon Harris, about their lives through the prism of three books: their favourite childhood book, the book that made them cry and the book that changed their lives.
The Dubliner began his career in the mid-1990s when he joined RTÉ.
He hosted the Late Late Show for 14 years before passing the baton to the current host Patrick Kielty while simultaneously presenting the Ryan Tubridy Show on RTÉ Radio One for eight years.
Tubridy parted ways with RTÉ after he found himself at the centre of the RTÉ payments saga which broke in June 2023.
