Glorious Hunters Part 1 Walkthrough

Glorious Hunters is an early (level 3) faction quest in Windrose, in which you’re tasked with uncovering the fate of a band of boar hunters, and then reporting back to their captain. There are three camps you’ll be investigating, and some of the evidence can be tricky to find, so here’s how to find all the evidence across all three Buccaneer’s camps.

The quest triggers upon visiting any of the three camps and looting the quest-relevant items, so you can start with any of these camps!

Abandoned Buccaneer Camp

There are three Buccaneer’s Chests to find and loot here, plus three pieces of evidence to investigate.

The first Buccaneer’s Chest is on the roof of the building once you climb up the slope, next to some fallen planks. For me, it contained Decoration: Food Preparations, and a Rum Bottle.

At the front of the ruin, you’ll see an Old rag. Examine it to read its stern warning message. Through the doorway and immediately in on your left, there’s a Shabby Desk you can interact with as well.

Continue round the corner to the left to loot the second Buccaneer’s Chest. This contains a Broken Musket, and Marcel Boucher’s Diary. These are both quest items.

Turn around and head to the other side of the ruins to examine the Abandoned Belongings there by the far wall. On the other wall, you’ll find the third Buccaneer’s Chest, which for us, contained a Rapier and 6 Homemade Gunpowder.

Here, there are three pieces of evidence to interact with, plus a Buccaneer’s Chest with quest items, and a Supply Cache.

Outside this camp, there’s a boar head mounted on a pillar outside the wall. Interact with the Practice Target to find out more.

There’s also an abandoned Old Tanning Rack out front on the left-hand side to investigate.

Inside the camp, you’ll find some Piled Crates in front of you to your right, and to your left, there’s an entryway blocked by stacked crates. Hack away at these with your axe to get inside, where you’ll find a Supply Cache (it contained a Fast Travel Bell for me).

In this room, there's also a hidden button you can press on the wall. Press E to activate it, and the wall to your left will disappear, revealing another area with a chest inside!

Head up to the top of the building and jump up the wooden platforms to the vantage point, where you’ll find another Buccaneer’s Chest, containing a couple of quest items; a Damaged Flask and a Page from Marcel Boucher’s Diary.

Note: Boars can be tricky to fight. If the Savage and Charging Boar charges hit you, you’ll be flung comically into the air and unable to stand up for a short time, leaving you vulnerable (plus it’s undignified). When you see the evil red glint in their eye, that means the boar is about to charge in a straight line ahead, so try to quickly dodge out of the way. The boar will have its back turned as it recovers from its failed impalement, so that’s a great time to attack.

Destroyed Buccaneer Fort

Here, there are four Old Skeletons to examine, plus a Broken gate and a Buccaneer's Chest.

As you head into this fort, your eye may be drawn to the skeleton dangling from an archway. Underneath it, there’s an Old Skeleton for you to examine.

Then, go up the stairs to your right, and turn the corner, where you’ll find a Broken gate to investigate.

Head inside, and look to your left to see a watchtower, with a broken wooden bridge that once connected it to the main camp. Jump across the gap to loot the Buccaneer’s Chest there, which for me, contained 7 Copper Bullets, 5 Iron Bullets, and 15 Homemade Gunpowder.

Head back across to the main building and look at the wooden ladder propped up against the wall. Climb up this ladder and loot the Old Skeleton on the top platform (I found a Sturdy Rapier, 5 Minor Healing Potions, and 2 Elixirs of Precision).

Go back down to the main level, and facing away from the top platform, jump over the short ruined wall in front of you. There’s an Old Skeleton crumpled in the corner to the left on the other side.

This skeleton was the last one I found, so it contained two quest items: a Torn Hat and Marcel’s Last Letter. If it doesn’t for you, though, proceed to the final skeleton below.

Head back to the broken gate and turn left; follow the wooden planks instead of walking down the stairs again. Down on the ground to your left, there’s another Old Skeleton to investigate.

Once you’ve looted Marcel’s final effects, your next job is to tell the head of the Buccaneers about the death of his people.

Rogue Buccaneer Camp

Head to the Rogue Buccaneer camp, where you can find various faction representatives - a Bounty Agent, Buyer, a Provisioner, and Henri Boucher, brother to the late Marcel. Speak to him and ask him about the musket. After he learns of his brother’s fate, you’ll complete part 1 of the Glorious Hunters quest, earning 50 XP, and then be tasked with your next job - sinking three pirate ships as revenge.

He'll also give you the Buccaneers side quest.
