Welcome Back Conner Walkthrough
One of the first Normal Missions you'll receive in Xenoblade Chronicles X will have you hunting down a lost BLADE in Primordia. In Welcome Back, Conner, you'll face a couple of indigens that are way too powerful for you now, but don't fret—the recommended level for this mission is 3. How to Start Welcome Back, Conner in Xenoblade Chronicles X
As soon as you leave New Los Angeles for the region of Primordia, open your map to find the quest marker for Welcome Back, Conner. It'll be to the right of NLA, and the client for this mission is an NPC named Nathan. He'll be conversing with an NPC named Monica near a cliff's edge.
How to Complete Welcome Back, Conner in XCX - Full Walkthrough
Once you initiate a conversation with Nathan, you'll see he's trying to convince Monica to retreat and await reinforcements, even though their teammate Conner has gone missing. Monica isn't too happy about this and argues they should keep looking for Conner. You can choose to side with Nathan or Monica in this matter; if you decide to side with Monica and tell Nathan you'll look for Conner, he'll ask you to go north to Sickle Rock Rise, where he believes you'll find Conner.
Sickle Rock Rise is to the north-east of NLA, not too far from your current location. You may need to dodge some pesky antagonistic indigens on your way, but thankfully getting to Conner is not that troublesome.
How to Find Conner's Comm Device
Conner will tell you about his plight; monsters were chasing him, and his life was starting to look short, but you can ease his concerns by telling him either that Nathan or Monica was looking for him. Who you talk to him about will affect Conner's affinity with them.
As if finding Conner wasn't enough work, he'll ask you to locate his comm device, which is thankfully not too far. Do a superhero landing off the nearby cliff and head slightly northwest to the map marker and ... well, you'll see a couple of rather intimidating level 36 monsters.
Relax—this is a terrifying prospect at your (likely) low level, but it is possible (and encouraged) to run up to the glowing item and run like hell. You will likely start a battle with these monsters, and one (or more) of your party may die, but as long as you make it out, they'll revive in time. It seems strange to put monsters like that in a mission with a low recommended level, but thankfully there's enough room to get outta dodge.
Return to Conner, hand over Conner's comm device, and you'll earn 110 EXP, 5,000 Credits, and a Bargain Tank Top (Blue Camo) for your trouble. Neat!
Completing Welcome Back, Conner will unlock the next mission in this quest line: Cinicula Assault.
