TaleSpin is so close to being awesome. Its flipping mechanic is interesting and while the shooting is clunky, it's got space to figure it out. But the game is instead a disaster because of its awful hitboxes and absurdly inconsistent difficulty. There are stretches, even whole levels, that feel like completely different design philosophies, with some being challenging but fair while others have bullet-hell (with those nasty hitboxes), leaving the final experience a case of "what could have been."

Tight controls and a great soundtrack come together for a great (but short) platformer. It's relatively simple but that works in its favor: each level carves its own identity and the throwing mechanic is a satisfying combat method. Plus legitimate co-op!
