ONGOING SPECIAL PROJECT: The underserved and historically significant Beth Hamedrash Hagodol-Beth Jacob cemetery. The goal is to provide full coverage of memorials, photo, plot number and gps for this cemetery, and connect each persons memorial with their family.
PROJECT STATUS:
01 Nov 2022: 30% photographed, 3% with gps. 3118 memorials.
28 Feb 2023: 90% photographed, 88% with gps. 3290 memorials.
20 May 2024: 88% photographed, 85% with gps. 3402 memorials. (majority of new are children with no monument/marker.)
SUMMARY:
Photos taken and posted for 99% of graves. (Approx. 4000 images; includes multiple angles for larger monuments, and inscription details).
50 duplicate memorials have been identified and merged.
52 known missing memorials (illegible or missing markers, Hebrew-only inscriptions) remain to be identified and added.
Reshoots for poor quality images (lighting/shadows, technical mishaps, cropping, etc.) as time and weather permit.
