Bio
My first resource was Grandmom Emma Seefelt of Trenton, New Jersey--my mother's mother. She had a wonderful collection of newspaper clippings and family dates for Seefelt, Hartmeyer (her maiden name), Serwatzius / Serwatzeus, Bartel, Liboski/Libowski, Leypoldt/Leypolott and Biederwolf/Bitterwolf, all of German heritage. (Of course, it's difficult to determine the correct spelling of many of those surnames!)
My father's line includes German, Scottish and Norwegian ancestry: Sticht, Steele, Middleton and so many more surnames researched by a wonderful cousin and her husband. Interviews with my father (Jeanne Sticht) and his half-siblings (Ed Hopkins and Enie Hopkins Sanders Lovinger) are precious memories.
I particularly enjoy personal visits to cemeteries, county courthouses, historical society libraries and interviews to learn about my ancestors. I have found priceless resources in Montana, Colorado and Scotland.
