My grandmother was the oldest daughter of Ethel D. Martin (Lott). Her siblings include, Lettie Jo Dial, Dewey L. Martin Jr, Rayford Martin, and David Martin.
My grandmother was raised in Nocona Texas by her aunt, Anna Mabel Lott Allen, and her uncle, W. D. Allen...after her mother Ethel Lott Martin died from sepsis caused by a ruptured appendix. Anna Mabel was a teacher in Nocona Texas for all of her teaching career. My grandmother, Dean, graduated from Texas Women's University with an English degree.
