I also believe in the preponderance of negative evidence. Meaning that (after exhaustive research) if there is no evidence indicating a different burial location for the spouse of a man or woman and they were known to have died in the same location, chances are that it is much more likely that the spouse who's grave is unmarked is buried alongside the spouse who's grave is.
I think people get obsessed with proving a burial location and not taking into account ages old burial traditions and thinking, "well, if there's no headstone, they must have been buried someplace else." Wrong....
