"Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep"

{written in 1932 by Mary Elizabeth Frye}

DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP

I AM NOT THERE; I DO NOT SLEEP

I AM A THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW

I AM THE DIAMOND GLINTS ON A SNOW

I AM THE SUNLIGHT ON A RIPENED GRAIN

I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN RAIN WHEN YOU AWAKEN IN THE MORNING'S HUSH

I AM THE SWIFT UPLIFTING RUSH OF QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLE FLIGHT

I AM THE SOFT STARS THAT SHINE AT NIGHT

DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY

I AM NOT THERE; I DID NOT DIE

SONG LYRICS:

Dani and Lizzy - Dancing in the Sky

VERSE 1:

What does it look like in heaven

is it peaceful and free like they say

Does the sun shine bright forever

Have your fears and your pain gone away.

PRE HOOK:

Cause here on earth, it feels like everything,.. good is missing, ..Since you left

here on earth everything is different, There is an emptiness

HOOK:

I hope you're dancing in the sky

I hope you're singing with the angels choir

I hope the angels, know what they have

I bet it's so nice up in heaven since you arrived

VERSE 2:

Tell me, what do you do up in heaven

are your days filled with love and light

is there music? is there art and invention

tell me are you happy and more alive

PRE HOOK:

cause Here on earth it feels like everything.. good is missing, since you left

here on earth everything is different, there is an emptiness

HOOK:

I hope you're dancing in the sky

I hope you're singing with the angels choir

I hope the angels, know what they have

I bet it's so nice up in heaven since you arrived

Boys II Men: "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye"

"It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday"

How do I say goodbye to what we had?

The good times that made us laugh

Outweigh the bad.

I thought we'd get to see forever

But forever's gone away

It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

I don't know where this road

Is going to lead

All I know is where we've been

And what we've been through.

If we get to see tomorrow

I hope it's worth all the wait

It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories

To be my sunshine after the rain

It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories

To be my sunshine after the rain

It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

The Recording of A Cemetery

By Thelma Greene Reagan

Today we walked where others walked

On a lonely windswept hill:

Today we talked where others cried

For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched

By graves of tiny babies

Snatched from the arms of loving kin,

In the heartbreaks of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay

In the last sleep of their time:

Lying under the trees and clouds-

Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot

Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?

Was it a babe, child, young or old?

No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad Lay.

We had been here once before

On a day we'd all like to forget,

But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin

The graves of ancestors past;

To be preserved for generations hence,

A record we hope will last

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,

For stones sometimes crumble to dust

And generations of folks yet to come

Will be grateful for your trust.

Inscription from a grave marker [#55382223 1971- 1991]

I'M THIRD

GOD IS FIRST, MY FELLOW MAN IS SECOND, I'M THIRD

When I die,

Give what's left of me to children.

If you need to cry,

Cry for your brother walking the

street beside you.

And when you need me,

Put your arms around someone and

give them what you need to give to me.

I want to leave you something

better than words or sounds.

Look for me in the people I've

known and loved.

If you can not give me away,

At least let me live on in your eyes,

not on your mind.

You can love me most by letting

hands touch hands, bodies touch

bodies, and by letting go of

those who need to be free.

Love doesn't die, people do.

So when all that is left of me is love,

Give me away.

Don't Let The Old Man In

Song by Toby Keith

Lyrics

Don't let the old man in

I wanna leave this alone

Can't leave it up to him

He's knocking on my door

And I knew all of my life

That someday it would end

Get up and go outside

Don't let the old man in

Many moons I have lived

My body's weathered and worn

Ask yourself how would you be

If you didn't know the day you were born

Try to love on your wife

And stay close to your friends

Toast each sundown with wine

Don't let the old man in

Many moons I have lived

My body's weathered and worn

Ask yourself how would you be

If you didn't know the day you were born

When he rides up on his horse

And you feel that cold bitter wind

Look out your window and smile

Don't let the old man in

Look out your window and smile

Don't let the old man in
