My lines are from Scotland, Ulster, Welsh, German, Norwegian, Swiss.
Names are: Porter (VA. WV) Marquart, Whitmer, Pappe (Bappe) (Germany)
Berhow, Helland (Norway) I have added a lot of information on the different
Memorials for my ancestors whenever I come across them. FindAGrave is such
a wonderful site and I so appreciate all the work that the many contributors do.
I have recently done autosomal DNA for my Porter side through an Ancestry kit
in the hope of knocking down a few of our brick walls. So many of the early
records have been lost or destroyed that it is hard to find documentation for
some of my lines. I am willing to share any of my research and have found many
new cousins and made many friendships that I cherish. In 2014 I went to some
of the areas in which my ancestors lived and visited cemeteries in which they are
buried. Virginia and West Virginia are such beautiful places, it was hard to leave.
I don't know how they ever wanted to migrate to some other place, but of course,
I am glad they did, or I wouldn't be here either. It is not important for me to get
the credit for anything I have added, but only hope that it helps others who are
researching the same lineage as mine. Kudos to FAG and their wonderful site.
