I was born and raised in Murphysboro, Jackson County, Ill. After retiring from teaching, I became involved in genealogy and then almost everything concerning Murphysboro and its people.

I am most proud of my virtual cemeteries, especially the one honoring the teachers and staff of the Murphysboro school system.

Through it all, Find A Grave has been an enormous help. Because of it, I have made new acquaintances and friendships. I am especially thankful for my friendships with Laura Whistle Cates Duncan and Cecil Saul.
