I have been researching my German ancestry for about 10 years. My family came to Calumet and Manitowoc counties in Wisconsin beginning in 1850. My Ortlepp ancestors came from Gotha, Thuringen; my Hass and Schildhauer ancestors came from the Eckernfoerde district of Schleswig Holstein; my Koeppen ancestors came from Dargun, Mecklenburg. I was born in Sheboygan but now I live in Rhode Island. My family tree on Ancestry.com is HASS ORTLEPP SCHILDHAUER KOEPPEN BATTEY.

I am also researching my Irish side. Clark/G?rman side from somewhere in Ireland, my Mohan/Finnegan side from County Monaghan. Dna matches and the many folks who have updated their trees has lead me to finding my Mohan ancestors around Carrickmacross. The townlands would be Cornacarrow, Dooraa, Tusker, and Aghnafarcan. I am still searching for the exact family line of Catherine Finnegan and Owen Mohan. I believe the Finnegans are from Raferagh area.

I retired to Maine and that is where I now reside.
