I began doing genealogy in abt. 2005. It is both challenging and rewarding. My husband, Bud, enjoyed searching the cemeteries for our ancestors. At first we only took photos of our own family but soon learned you NEVER do that. Always do the entire cemetery if possible.

Photographing a headstone is one way of documenting family history. When you find something online you must always check it out your self and use the online information as a good starting point only.

I helped form the "Noble Family Association" of Southeastern Kentucky. We locate the graves of ancestors that may have only had a fieldstone with initials or in some instances the original memorial can no longer be read. So far we have placed over 225 new markers in KY.
{We leave the old marker in place and add a second marker}

If you find a mistake in my posting please email and I will change the information if it can be verified. I will also connect the families with verification.

I will abide by the rules in transferring the memorials. However if the person is also related in my family line then I prefer to keep and maintain myself.

Good luck to all of you in finding your relatives and hopefully you may find a way to keep the stones in good condition or replace. It is so sad to see the condition of some of the markers.
