June 2024 --- Thank you for the corrections, updates and photos. Your contributions are appreciated. Some changes may require proof, such as a Death Certificate or other official/legal papers. Otherwise, they may be denied.
It doesn't cost you anything to be nice!
On all transfer requests, PLEASE include your relationship to the deceased. Requests will only be processed if they fall within Findagrave guidelines.
The 4 generation Find A Grave Guidelines are:
Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Grandparents, and Great-grandparents.
I will be happy to transfer any of your family to you to maintain as long as they are not related to me.
Being related doesn't mean that you need to control their Memorial Page. After all, the ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.
Our focus should be to preserve as much as we can for our future generations.
REMEMBER: It is just a MEMORIAL. NOT A FAMILY TREE!
YOU DON'T OWN YOUR ANCESTORS OR THEIR MEMORIALS!
*NOTE: Consider adding "Virtual Cemeteries" as a place to gather your loved ones in a grouping where you can access them easily. You can even make them PRIVATE!
One more thing... when you decide to send that ugly message to someone, remember this...none of us are perfect, we are human, we all make mistakes!
