In director Steven Soderbergh's biographical legal drama, it told about corporate pollution and was based upon a true case of toxic waste and environmental activism in 1993; in the David vs. Goliath story, a legal assistant and single mother - the title character Erin Brockovich helped to reach a settlement with the Pacific, Gas & Electric (PG&E) energy company regarding contamination of the water supply in the town of Hinkley, California:
