Information on personnel certified by manufacturers to carry out servicing of lifeboats etc.

The IMO "Guidelines for Periodic Servicing and Maintenance of Lifeboats, Launching Appliances and On-load Release Gear" (MSC.402(96)) state that maintenance, thorough examination, operational testing, overhaul and repair of lifeboats and rescue boats, launching appliances and release gear are to be carried out by the personnel certified by the manufacturer or authorized service provider for each make and type of the equipment to be worked on.

A list of manufacturers and, where available, links to information of service providers for which personnel certified by the manufacturer are belonging to is presented below based on information received by the Society from each manufacturer. Detailed information on each service provider can be found by clicking on the name of the manufacturer in the list. In cases where information on the service network or the service providers has not been provided by the manufacturer, please contact the manufacturer directly for details.

NOTE:

• In accordance with this IMO Resolution, maintenance, thorough examination, operational testing, overhaul and repair of the above items shall be carried out by service providers authorized by flag administrations of vessels. Please refer to ClassNK Home Page (MSC.402(96) - Instruction by Flag Administrations) for details.
• Please ask each manufacturer or service provider directly regarding inquiries for service, costs and contact points.
