Zoom’s Hidden Features This assignment acquaints you with some of Zoom’s hidden gems of which you may not be aware. The assignment assumes that you are comfortable with basic Zoom features. The term "client" refers to the adult, child, or family member with whom you would be delivering services to within the scope of your profession and setting. ●くろまる Zoom feature: Waiting Room o What is the "waiting room" feature? ▪ The waiting room feature makes it possible for the host to control when the participants join the meeting. o How might it be used in your clinical environment? ▪ This can be used in a clinical setting because it can allow providers to let patients in the meeting when they choose. This could be helpful if you are finishing up a meeting with one patient and you can have the next patient waiting outside. It’s just like a waiting room in a real doctor's office. ●くろまる Zoom feature: Waiting Room Options o When/why might you use a logo and description vs a video notification? ▪ You might use a logo and description to make sure that the patient knows that they are waiting for the right meeting and to let them know what the meeting is for. ●くろまる Zoom feature: In Meeting (Basic) o When/why might you allow a user to change their name when joining a meeting or rename themselves, or would you want to rename participants in the waiting room? ▪ You might allow a user to change their name when joining a meeting so the user can keep their privacy safe. In the waiting room you might want to rename users if they are a part of a clinical trial and they are a certain participant. o When/why might you want to hide participant profile pictures during the session? ▪ This can increase security and privacy in meetings. It can create a visual association between the host and user. Identify the feature you would enable to address the following scenarios.
1. Staff support has been assigned the task of scheduling your virtual clinical sessions. a. Zoom feature: Schedule Privilege 2. You need to send Zoom invites to clients across languages to best accommodate the needs of your client population. a. Zoom feature: Change the language in settings under invitation email. b. A family reports that the invite came in English even though you had selected Dutch. Why might that be? i. Zoom: It is possible that I didn’t save the language preference. 3. You are part of an interprofessional team. Several clients have executive functioning/memory problems and become confused when the order of the team members changes on the screen. Being able to fix the location of participants in the gallery would decrease cognitive demand. a. Zoom feature: Layout Options 4. You are part of an interprofessional team. You are responsible for setting up the Zoom link for the weekly team meetings. Team members have asked you to send as a calendar invite. a. Zoom feature: Schedule a meeting, under calendar select the calendar (Outlook, Google), enter the participants emails, and send. 5. You need to change the time of a previously scheduled Zoom meeting. a. Zoom feature: Find the meeting on the calendar, double click the meeting, edit the date and time, select send update.
