Question

In our office we use TWiki 4.2

This site is running TWiki version TWiki-4.2.0, 2008�N1��22��, build 16278, Plugin API version 1.2

and I have a problem with searching my topics.

There is no search result if I search the word "genetisch" - searching "genetische" finds 6 Topics. In Version 4.1 there is no Problem to find the same 6 topics with the word "genetisch". There is no other result, when I do an advanced search with reular expression and the searchargument "genetisch*" (to use * as a wildcard). And at last - in Version 4.1 I could search "�grzte" an I find topics with the word "�grzte" in it. In Version 4.2 there is nothing to find.

As you see, I'm an Austrian, and my english is not so good - so if it is possible to answer in german, please do so.

You seem to have stumbled over quite a few problems at once...

1. In TWiki 4.2, searches in texts apparently use a "word" type, i.e. find only complete words per default. I am unable to find a pointer when this changed, though.
2. Please check whether your charset is utf8, which is another pain point in 4.2. If you use a charset of iso8859-1, German umlauts should work fine.
3. Regex search in WebSearchAdvanced is broken in 4.2, this is a known bug and will hopefully be fixed in a 4.2.1 patch release (TWikibug:Item5410).

1. In 4.2 werden im Text nur ganze W?rter gesucht, ich finde aber nicht, wann das reingekommen ist.
2. TWiki 4.2 hat auch Probleme mit UTF8. Bei Einstellung von Charset=iso8859-1 funktioniert bei mir die Suche nach ��ml��ten genauso wie in �lteren Versionen.
3. Dass die Suche mit Regular Expressions in WebSearchAdvanced nicht funktioniert, ist ein bereits best�tigter Fehler (TWikibug:Item5410) und wird hoffentlich in der Version 4.2.1 behoben sein.

Sorry, no solution right now / Tut mir leid, eine richtige L?sung wei? ich nicht.
