accumulation (integration)

a gradual,non-instantaneousincreaseordecrease ofaquantityovertime.Anaccumulatorisalsoreferredtoasastockorlevel andrepresentsthestateofasystem.Toaccumulateistheactofincreasing anddecreasingthesizeofastatevariable(astock)overtime.

aggregation

thegroupingofnumerousdistinctsystemcomponentsintoone variable.Aggregationisdoneforsimplicitywhenthegroupinggenerates thesamebehaviorofinterestasthosegeneratedbythecomponents separately

aggregation level

theextenttowhichthesystemcomponentsareaggregated
ordisaggregated.

aging chain

asequenceofstocksconnectedbyconservedflowsinwhich
thestocksdepictthecontentsofthechainindifferentstages, conditions or locations, and the contents move in one direction along the aging chain.
