Manage shopping preferences on Google

By saving your shopping preferences, you can find relevant results and personalized recommendations more quickly. For example, you can save your favorite brands, department, and style preferences. Your shopping preferences may be reflected on Search, Shopping, Discover and other Google surfaces.

Save your department preference

You can save your retail department preference, such as Men’s or Women’s, when you search for an apparel product category.

To save your department preference:

  1. On your device, go to google.com.
  2. Search for a product category, like jeans or winter coat.
  3. Set the filter to one of the options, like Women’s or Men’s.
  4. When the prompt appears:
    • To save your preference, choose Save.
    • To decline, choose Don’t save.

Tips:

  • If you shop in all departments, you don’t have to set a department preference.
  • As Google improves the shopping experience, inclusive products and features are a priority.
  • This feature doesn’t ask for your gender identification.

Save your favorite brands

You can save brands in some product categories, like "jeans" or "shoes." Products from your favorite brands will show up more often in your search results. You can update your favorite brands in your shopping preferences.

To save your brand preferences:

  1. On your device, go to google.com.
  2. Search for a product category, like jeans or winter coat.
  3. Scroll down to "Save your favorite brands."
  4. Select which brands to save.

The next time you search for clothes, you’ll see more results matching your brands.

Save your virtual Try-on model

You can save your preferred virtual Try-on model in some product categories, like "women’s tops." Virtual try-on for apparel shows you how clothes look on various real models.

To save your Try-On model preference:

  1. On your device, go to google.com.
  2. Search for a product category, like sweaters.
  3. Scroll down to find a product that says "Try-on."
  4. To see more details about the product, tap on it.
  5. To select your preferred model, on the product viewer, click Try-on models.
    • Your selection is saved automatically.

Tips:

  • When available, the product shows the garment on your preferred model by default.
  • To remove your saved model, on the product viewer, select More More and then Remove saved model .

Save your style preferences

You can save style preferences in some product categories, like jeans or shoes. Products similar to your style preferences show up often in your search results. You can manage your liked styles in your shopping preferences.

To save your style preferences:

  1. On your device, go to google.com.
  2. Search for a product category, like jeans or winter coats.
  3. Scroll to "Get style recommendations."
  4. To specify your style preferences, you can like and dislike items.
Tip: The next time you search for clothes, more results will match your style preferences.

Manage your preferences

When preferences are applied to shopping-related searches, the Personalization displays below the search box. You can update your preferences next to any shopping result or through the Personalization icon.

To change your preferences:

  1. On your device, go to google.com.
  2. Search for a product category, like jeans
  3. Below any product result, select More More and then About this result.
  4. Select Manage your shopping preferences.

Manage your loyalty programs

To see more relevant membership or loyalty prices and shipping for your results, you can connect your loyalty programs to your Google Account. There are 3 ways loyalty programs can be connected to your Google Account:

  • Shared by the retailer
  • Automatically connected for you by Google
  • Added manually by you
Let retailers share your loyalty program status

Google may use information you gave to retailers (such as loyalty program member email address), which the retailer provided to Google, to personalize your Google listings.

Within the shopping preference manager, you'll see loyalty programs retailers have made available to Google.

To opt in or opt out of retailer shared loyalty programs:

  1. On your device, go to google.com.
  2. Search for a product like: Jeans

  3. Below any product result, select More and then About this result.
  4. Select Manage your shopping preferences.
  5. In your shopping preferences, go to the "Your loyalty programs" section.
  6. To opt in or opt out, turn on or off the Retailer shared.
Automatically connected loyalty program

Google may discover loyalty programs your Google Account is associated with and automatically connect for you.

Shopping preference manager will show you which loyalty programs Google was able to discover and automatically connect for you. For example, you can add or remove a loyalty card in Google Wallet. Learn more about loyalty cards in Google Wallet.

Connect or disconnect a loyalty program manually

You can also manually connect your loyalty programs to your Google Account directly from the product list.

To connect a program:

  1. On your device, go to google.com or shopping.google.com.
  2. Search for a product from a retailer where you have a loyalty membership.
  3. To open the detailed product view, from the search results, click the product.
  4. To find the loyalty program status section, click More .
  5. From the options, select your membership tier.
    • Your membership tier will be saved to your Google Account and you can find benefits like member pricing or points earned on that purchase.

To disconnect a program:

  1. Find a product from a retailer whose loyalty program you've saved.
  2. In the product details panel, click More .
  3. In the loyalty membership section, click More and then Edit shopping preferences.
    • You'll find your list of "Manually connected loyalty programs."
  4. Find the program you wish to disconnect.
  5. To unlink it from your Google Account, next to the program, click Remove Remove.
