Set up your Pixel phone

You can move what's on your current phone to your Pixel phone, or set up your Pixel phone as a new device.

  • You can automatically transfer data from most phones using Android 5.0 and up or iOS 8.0 and up. (Learn how to check your Android or iOS version, and what can limit iPhone copying.)

Transfer data from your old phone to your new Pixel phone

To move data to your new phone, follow the on-screen steps the first time you turn it on. If you want to transfer data from:

Restore data after setup (Pixel 9 & later)

Important: You can only restore data from one previous device. If you want to restore from a different device, first reset your Pixel phone.

To restore your backed-up data from your Google Account to your new phone:

  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Back up or copy data and then Copy data using Android Switch and then Start.
  3. If you used another device to transfer data, scan the QR code through the old device.
    • If you didn’t use another device to transfer data, you can choose a device to copy data from.
  4. Select the data you want to transfer over.
  5. Tap Copy.
