Play music while navigating

You can play, pause, skip, and change music without minimizing Google Maps navigation.

Important: This feature is not available in all locations.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
2. Tap your profile picture or initial Account Circle and then Settings Settingsand then Navigation and then Show media playback controls.
3. Choose a media app and then Next and then OK.
4. To change your media settings, tap your profile picture or initial Account Circle and then Settings Settings and then Navigation and then Music playback controls.
5. Controls for the media player you’ve chosen show at the bottom of the screen in Google Maps navigation.
