Google Home app Activity

Open Activity Activity icon in the Google Home app to review important events in your home. You can also add filters to create a customized list of events.

Activity shows you information like:

  • Activity detected by your Google Nest products, like Nest camera events
  • Network issues detected by Nest Wifi
  • Reminders about additional features and services for your Google Home and Nest products
  • A summary of what happened at home in your Home Brief if you’ve enabled Gemini for Home camera features

With a Google Home Premium subscription, you can also check activity from compatible third-party devices such as lights, appliances, and media devices.

Tip: To get notified about important home events, even if you forget to check your activity, turn on Google Home app notifications.

Check your home's Activity

Important: To check third-party device activity, you need a Google Home Premium subscription.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Activity Activity icon.
  3. Check the list of events and suggestions.
    • To get more details, tap an event or suggestion.
    • To take action on an event or suggestion, tap it. If multiple actions are available, tap the action you want to take.
    • To remove an event or suggestion, tap Open card options and then Dismiss.
      • Tip: Dismissed events still appear in the Home history.

Filter events

To check for specific types of events, you can filter them by device, event type, or date.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Activity Activity icon.
  3. At the top, tap Devices, Events, or Date to add filters for that category.
  4. Tap the filters you want. At the bottom, tap Save.
    • Tip: Filtered history only includes days with the selected types of events.
  5. To remove an individual filter, navigate to the filter category and uncheck the box next to the filter and tap Save. For a category, you can also select Clear all to remove all filters.
  6. To remove all filters and return to your full history, clear filters for each category and tap Save.

Delete history

Camera history

Before you delete your camera’s video history, here are a few things you should know:

  • When you delete camera history, it will delete all of its video history in the app. It won’t delete individual clips you saved.
  • You can delete all history for specific cameras, but you cannot delete individual or specific types of camera events.
  • You can also delete camera history in the Nest app. If your camera is in both apps, erasing camera history from one app will also erase it from the other.

Delete your camera’s video history

Important: Before you erase your camera’s video history, save and download video clips that you want to keep.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Select the camera you want.
  3. Tap MoreMore menu and then Settings and then Delete video history.

Other events

You may be able to delete other events depending on the type.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Activity Activity icon.
  3. Tap the event and then More and then Delete and then Delete.
